Bolton Arena Community Active Day

Digicomm customer Bolton Arena is inviting families from the local community to a ‘Community Active Day’ to try out a number of sports at this fantastic local resource.

The objective of the event, held at Bolton Arena on Saturday 2nd July between 10-16.0, is to encourage people to become more active, as the venue showcases a variety of sports and fitness activities for all age groups.

It’s a perfect chance for people looking to start a personal fitness journey for the first time or try a new sport a range of opportunities, all under one roof, free of charge.

Digicomm have looked after IT & Telecoms for Bolton Arena for many years, as well as being a sponsor of this great venue.

Tennis

Bolton Arena’s team of highly qualified coaches will be delivering the below sessions throughout the day, if you want to learn the basics book onto the coaching sessions or if you want to play with your friends or family book a court for some singles or doubles free play.

Tennis sessions available

  • Singles tennis
  • Doubles tennis
  • Coaching sessions – ages 5-8
  • Coaching sessions – ages 9-15
  • Adult coaching sessions
  • Try tennis family sessions

Gym

Bolton Arena boast a fantastic gym equipped with the very latest Technogym cardio and weights equipment, these sessions are available for people ages 14 and over. Book onto a session to sample what’s on offer for you, our gym team will be available throughout the day for guidance, motivation and support.

There will be a number of ‘Family Bootcamp’ sessions available for families to take part in together, children must be aged 7 years and over.

Family Bootcamp – Our Bootcamp classes consist of military-styled workouts with exercises such as push-ups, squats, sprints and many more drills that will push you to your limits! Benefits include muscle toning and aerobic endurance.

If you want to try a studio fitness class we will be running the following Les Mills Virtual classes throughout the day.

Sprint – A 30-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workout, using an indoor bike to achieve fast results. It’s a short, intense style of training where the thrill and motivation comes from pushing your physical and mental limits.

RPM – RPM is an indoor cycle workout where you control the intensity. An RPM workout takes you on a journey of climbs, sprints and flats

Bodyattack –  A 30 minute fun filled interval training class which combines aerobic movements and athletic agility training with strength exercises.

Bodypump – The 45 minute classes using barbells and adjustable weights help tone and condition muscles while raising metabolic rate for rapid fat burning. BodyPump classes are a great way to get fit.

Core – Looking for a short, sharp workout that’ll inspire you to the next level of fitness, while strengthening and toning your body? LES MILLS CORE™ is for you!

Gymnastics

At Bolton Arena we have a bespoke Gymnastics centre with full floor, bars, beam and vault apparatus. Our sessions are suitable for children ages 3 and over.

The gymnastics coaches are available throughout the day to offer fun coaching sessions to children, it’s a great opportunity to try out the equipment in a safe environment.

Gymnastics sessions available:

  • Gymnastics – Pre-School Class – ages 3- 4 years
  • Gymnastics – Class ages 4-6 years
  • Gymnastics – Class ages 6-8 years
  • Gymnastics – Class ages 9 years and over

Football

Bolton Arena have a number of outdoor 3G pitches available for casual or block bookings along with our successful 5-A-Side League programme and Over 50’s Walking football programme we offer something for everyone for the nations favourite sport.

On the day we’ll be running the following football sessions:

  • 5-A-Side – Ages 7 to 9 years
  • 5-A-Side – Ages 10 to 12 years
  • 5-A-Side – Ages 16 and over
  • Kickabout – Ages 16 and over
  • Men & Women over 50’s Walking Football
  • Crossbar Challenge

Athletics

Bolton Arena has a 400-metre running track which is available for use free of charge for gym members or on a Pay and Play basis for non-members. Horwich Harriers and Chorley Harriers are resident athletics club using the regularly using the facilities for club training nights.

The track is available to use throughout the Community Active Day book on a 30 minute session.

If you don’t want to take part in the sessions but would like to come along to view our facilities please book onto the day as a spectator through Eventbrite.
