When Digicomm do something – we do it properly! This summer, our team accepted the challenge of a lifetime, taking a massive jump and a huge leap by joining the Lagan’s Foundation skydive crew.
After the past 18 months, many businesses have suffered due to the pandemic – not least of all charities. Digicomm have always been committed to giving back to the local community through charity fundraising and the support of local good causes, raising thousands of pounds over the years. As a Bolton-based company, we’ve been raising money for Lagan’s Foundation since it’s launch and in these most challenging of times, charities need more support than ever.
Back in June the team assembled at the Black Knights jump centre at Cockerham in Lancashire and Senior Engineers Tom Hyde and Warren Hardman took to the skies and took a huge leap of faith – in the most literal of terms, from 15,000 feet. For both of them, it was their first ever skydive and the atmosphere was one of both excitement and nervous anticipation.

Afterwards, Tom said: “Wow, wow and wow! It was an honour to be part of the skydive for such an amazing cause”

Warren commented: “The skydive was the most exhilarating experience of my life! I loved every second”
Managing Director Mark Pollitt did his jump in August, on a beautiful day with perfect conditions. The views across Lancashire were truly stunning, as his video shows.

The team raised a fantastic £2,300 for the charity with customers, staff and friends digging deep. Everyone who sponsored the team was put in to a prize draw to win a pair of VIP tickets for the Made in Manchester festival at Bolton Arena on the 4th September, which was won by Digicomm Customer Mortgage Solutions.
Lagan’s Foundation and Business Development Manager, Charlotte Othen said:
“ Our charity skydive was amazing and it was great to engage with others and enjoy the atmosphere of a charity event. Mark, Warren and Tom threw themselves in to the challenge and took on the skydive with great passion and enthusiasm and as a team they have raised a staggering amount of money. We are very lucky they chose Lagan’s Foundation once again for their support”.
